Jessica and Scott tie the knot at Musket Ridge

09/03/2010

Jessica and I immediately hit it off when we met. She likes having fun and being creative and she wanted all of her wedding party photos taken prior to the ceremony. Now I realize that every bride and groom may not want to see each other before the ceremony…. but for others that don’t mind, it’s a great way to get additional lifestyle shots that you normally wouldn’t get at your venue.

Jessica and Scott went to high school together but…as Jessica put it…. they were not smitten with each other. She laughed and said they really didn’t like each other! But many years later they ran into each other at a downtown event and got reacquainted. She smiled and said they have been together ever since. I think they were souls destined to be together!

To make it a bit more personal, Jessica decided on a “First Look’ to privately meet her son, Colin, and her fiance, Scott, in a designated location prior to the shoot. I arranged the meeting at Brewer’s Alley and they graciously allowed us usage of their facility. It worked out great! The entire wedding party met us there and we took some great shots.

Afterward… I took the bride and bridesmaids to a nearby boutique called “Tiara Day” tiaraday.com. I love this store! It’s shabby chic, girly, it has all kinds of retro clothes, cool jewelry, other neat things, and the most awesome decor. Maria, the owner, let us use anything in the store… so the girls had fun playing with some hats! Maria, you’re the best! We also took some additional photos with the grooms men around town with fun props before we headed to Musket Ridge Golf Course for the ceremony.

Jessica’s entourage freshened up while Scott and the guys drank brews in the lounge. The guests started to arrive. It was a beautiful hot day and while I was clicking, I admired her table theme of wild flowers, lemonade with brightly colored striped straws, and designer cupcakes which perfectly complemented everything.

An acoustic guitarist played during the sunset ceremony while Jessica and Scott kissed and became Mr. and Mrs. Clabaugh. Afterward we took advantage of the golden sunlight for some more fab shots before everyone headed into the reception to party for the rest of the evening.

Congratulations Jessica and Scott!
p.s. Jessica, your blue suede heels rocked!!!!!
